NO, All Oil depots were built outside the city area only as planned by the city developers years ag, but due to lack of water and farmers turning into estate holders, city is brought and developed near the Oil depots. YOu can see houses sharing the same boundary walls to the depot. Due to the individual gain and greed the city is expanded unplanned and then due to the institutional greed and need of financial independence of every piece of our so called govt. machiney these expansions are approved. Now is the high time to revisit the city plan again and if expansion is really needed now for accomodation purposes. We now have to follow the simple rule of high rise and should show the accountability to maintain them too. Location of all the Oil depots. LPG gas filling stations/ warehouses and other factories/ sorages should be assessed again and safety measures to be ensured. We need to implememnt some basic safety and machine operating rules stringently and diligently giving safety the top most prioity.
